Innboard P .018″
This is a phenolic material, thermocured under lower heat and lower pressure than our Innboard D material to produce a hard, smooth matte finish. The surface hardness and exceptional flatness makes it suitable to be used as entry and back-up material in the drilling of printed circuit boards.
Generally speaking, Innboard D in thinner gauges is used as entry material, and in thicker gauges as a back-up material and single-sided routing. At thinner gauges, Innboard P is used in drilling with the “sandwich” technique in which it is used as both entry and secondary back-up material.
Under the secondary back-up, its capable of accommodating the tip of the drill bit. While the Innboard is changed each time, the primary back-up is left in place until the drilling pattern is changed or becomes unusable. This system produces high quality holes with reduced wander.
